Pioneering Agricultural Education Since 1947

The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Peradeniya is the premier institution for agricultural higher education in Sri Lanka. Established in 1947 as part of the University of Ceylon, it holds the distinction of being the oldest and largest faculty of agriculture in the country. For over seven decades, we have been the torchbearer of innovation, producing the vast majority of the nation's agricultural scientists, policymakers, and industry leaders. Today, the Faculty comprises eight distinguished departments, covering every aspect of the agriculture. From our laboratories in Peradeniya to our field stations in the dry zone, we are dedicated to one mission: striving for excellence in education and research to ensure a sustainable future for all.
